The Baby Room

Eight months later, and we're ALMOST done! And boy has it taken some hard work to get there....but it was well worth it. :)

It all started with the bedding I found and everything kind of evolved from there. We painted the room what was supposed to be a cream color, which turned out to be pretty much yellow (the lighting in Home Depot must be bad!). Even though Kevin thinks it looks like mustard yellow (which it totally does not), I like it anyway. Then we installed new carpet (throughout the whole house - yippee!) and put new baseboards and crown molding in. Kevin has been quite the handyman these days, and thanks to him, Baby Seymour officially has the nicest room in the house. I assembled all of the baby furniture while Kevin slaved away painting and cutting wood. I have to say we make a pretty good team. After all of the room prepping was done, we moved in the furniture. Then it came the fun part - decorating! My friend Melissa had the genius idea to make curtains....ladies beware; this sounds a lot easier than it really was (but we still had a lot of fun doing it). We went fabric shopping at my home away from home - Downtown LA. I think we now have a favorite new fabric store (thank you Michael Levine!). With a little trial and error, we managed to make some pretty fabulous curtains for both the window and the closet. I am REALLY happy with how they turned out and I love that they are one of a kind. So far, I have found a lamp and some knickknacks that I just had to have. The walls are still bare for now, but I have big plans for those too. You'll just have to check back and see the finished product....sometime between now and D-Day. :)
